The crypto market continues to extend losses across the board as prevailing selloff by investors is showing no signs of abating on the back of a strong pickup in risk aversion. Average loss per coin has been near 12.25% over the past 24-hour period.
Investors and traders are growing increasingly nervous amid souring mood and negative outlook that may open up a long-lasting downward spiral, adding to the challenges facing digital asset holders in the market.
The entire market has almost been closely moving in lockstep with bitcoin which has been used as a guide by traders to make their bets. Crypto markets operate 24/7, setting the stage for price swings at unpredictable hours.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is changing hands at US $46,770 (down 11.2%). Ether is down 12.7% to US $3,430.
The first cryptocurrency dropped from US $50,257 to $43,351 initially before recovering some ground.
