Crystal Scales of Justice Prize: shortlisted projects announced

The Council of Europe's "Crystal Scales of Justice Prize" identifies, publicises and shares innovative practices aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of judicial systems. Of 23 applications received from 15 countries, the jury, composed of justice professionals, selected three projects that will be presented at the award ceremony to be held in Slovenia on 1st October at the invitation of the Supreme Court of Slovenia (winner of the previous edition of the prize for its initiative for "Improving the quality of justice").

The three selected initiatives are:

  • A virtual quiz called "Court battle" and specific learning websites created for primary and secondary schools and high schools consisting of different thematic modules including a mock trial session, (Denmark, Courts Administration);
  • Simplified hospital complaints for victims of domestic violence (French Ministry of Justice);
  • Implementation, development and strengthening of the Public Justice Centre of Odessa Region (Ukraine, Kyiv District Court of Odessa).
