Cultured': Chamber Music Comes to Orange Civic Square

Orange Council

The Orange Chamber Music Festival's free community music, arts and heritage event Cultured will be held in the Civic Square on Saturday 11 March, supported by Orange City Council, Create NSW and the Orange Regional Arts Foundation.

Orange City Council's Services Policy Committee Chair, Cr Mel McDonell says a series of performances will be held throughout the day at the North Court, Orange City Library, Orange Regional Gallery, Orange Regional Museum and the South Court by local and visiting musicians.

"If you aren't familiar with chamber music or simply want to enjoy beautiful classical music, this is a great opportunity for members of the community to experience chamber music of the highest calibre in Orange's vibrant cultural precinct," Cr McDonell said.

"I encourage everyone to enjoy the community atmosphere of the event and celebrate the city's vibrant cultural scene at Cultured 2023."

The entertainment will commence at the Orange Farmers Market at the North Court in the morning with music by the NSW Police Brass Ensemble and Dixieland band, followed by performances in the museum and gallery, and finishing with an interactive performance by the Pinnacle Players at the library.

Festival Director and Cultured 2023 curator Carmen Nieves says Cultured is a celebration of Orange's love for the arts.

"We aim to incorporate all aspects of Orange's culture in one event that will have a long-lasting impact in the local community, especially those with limited exposure to the fine arts.

It is a joy to be able to provide the community with diverse free performances, with something for the whole family," Carmen Nieves said.
