Cyclist dies after crash in North Melbourne

Police are investigating after a cyclist died in hospital, Victoria Police say.

It is understood a cyclist was riding north-west along Flemington Road when he turned onto Dryburgh Street and fell from his bike about 11am Tuesday 18 April.

It is not believed any other persons or vehicles were involved in the incident.

A 77-year-old North Melbourne man, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to hospital with head and pelvis injuries.

Sadly he died in hospital on 21 April.

Investigators are yet to determine the cause of the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
