Police are calling for dashcam footage after a cyclist died following a fail to stop crash at Nords Wharf in Lake Macquarie on Sunday morning.
About 11am on Sunday 14 December 2025, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Awabakal Drive following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended and were told a cyclist and a SUV had collided.
The cyclist – a 42-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The car – believed to be a black Toyota FJ Cruiser – failed to stop after the collision.
A crime scene was established and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the crash.
About 9.50am yesterday (Monday 15 December 2025), the cyclist died in hospital.
