Cyclist fatality in Mount Waverley

A man riding a bicycle has died after a collision with a car this afternoon in Mount Waverley.

The man was struck by a car on Blackburn Road just after 12.30pm

It's believed the collision occurred in the southbound lanes near Fiander Avenue.

The man received life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

The male driver of the car stopped to render assistance and is assisting Police with their enquiries.

The cause of the collision is yet to be determined and the male cyclist is yet to be formally identified.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
