Cyclist hit in Armadale

Police are appealing for public assistance after a cyclist was hit by a car in Armadale last night, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a blue Holden sedan collided with a cyclist travelling along High Street near Sutherland Street about 7.45pm.

Protective Service Officers were nearby and assisted paramedics at the scene.

The cyclist, a 16-year-old Prahran boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Holden, a 42-year-old Burwood woman was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Prahran Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses.

Anyone with dash cam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
