A man has been charged after a cyclist was seriously injured following a crash in Sydney's south west.
About 5.40pm yesterday (Sunday 18 December 2022), emergency services responded to reports a cyclist and a motorcycle had collided at the Lansdowne Reserve, Georges Hall.
The motorcycle and cyclist were riding in opposite directions along a bicycle track when they collided with one another.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 34-year-old man at the scene for serious injuries to his arm. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene as specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The 18-year-old rider of the motorcycle was not injured. He was arrested and taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing and the motorcycle was seized for mechanical and forensic examination.
Following inquiries, the man was taken to Bankstown police station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and fail to comply with council notice.
He was given conditional bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 11 January 2023.
