Cyclist suffers critical injuries after being hit by car - Southern Highlands

Investigations have commenced after a cyclist was hit by a car in the Southern Highlands yesterday.

About 4.40pm (Wednesday 22 April 2020), a 62-year-old man was riding his pushbike along the Illawarra Highway, Robertson, heading west towards Moss Vale.

A Peugeot, being driven by an 85-year-old man was also heading west when the two collided.

The rider suffered critical injuries and was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Inquiries are continuing by officers from The Hume Police District and would like to speak with anyone who may have information that can assist.
