Northland Police have been notified of infrastructure damage caused to a number transmission towers overnight.
Cell phone reception is affected in some areas, however landlines are still operating.
The affected areas include:
Tikitikioure
Taupo Bay
Domain Road
Karikari Central
Mangonui
Waimauku
Matapouri
Huruiki
Helena Bay
Partner agencies are working hard to restore service and we will keep the community updated.
Anyone needing assistance from emergency services who cannot call from a mobile phone, needs to call 111 from a landline.
