Two 19-year-old men will appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court charged with dangerous driving following investigations into an allege road race at Wellington Point last week.
Police from the Capalaba Road Policing Unit (RPU) attended Main Road, Wellington Point on February 11 after being called to the location by members of the public reporting vehicles racing in the area and at the entrance to Wellington Point Reserve.
Police patrols failed to locate the vehicles however officers were provided with footage taken my members of the public and following investigations into the footage, along with CCTV provided by local residents, officers from Capalaba RPU today issued the alleged drivers with notices to appear in court on April 19, where they both face a charge of dangerous operation of a vehicle – speeding or unlawful race or unlawful speed trial.
Police also impounded one of the vehicles for forfeiture.
