Police have charged a man with dangerous driving and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Beerwah yesterday, Queensland Police say.
Around 4.10pm a 38-year-old Beerburrum man attended the Beerwah police station to report the incident. The man, who was suffering serious injuries including broken hands and a leg, was transported by ambulance to Nambour General Hospital.
Police investigations indicate that shortly before 4pm an altercation occurred between several people, including the two men, on Simpson Street.
It will be alleged a 4WD was driven at the 38-year-old striking him. All people involved in the incident were known to each other.
A 37-year-old Coochin Creek man was arrested by police and remanded in custody to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning.
