Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charges, South Brisbane

Two men have been charged this morning following a number of incidents that occurred in the South Brisbane area overnight, Queensland Police say.

Polair was patrolling around 11.45pm when they observed a vehicle that was stolen from Heritage Park on February 8 that was allegedly driving at high speed on the Logan Motorway at Drewvale.

Officers continued to track the vehicle as it allegedly drove around the Ipswich and Logan areas.

A number of road block and cordons were coordinated as the vehicle continued and two men allegedly then fled from the vehicle on the Gateway Motorway at Eight Mile Plains around 12.35am.

A dog squad officer was able to track two men who were then taken into custody without incident a short time later.

A 20-year-old Marsden man has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and failure to store ammunition in a secure area.

A 25-year-old Marsden man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failure to store ammunition in a secure area and failure to properly dispose of a syringe.

They are both due to appear in the Holland Park Magistrates Court on February 13.
