Dangerous Operation Of Motor Vehicle At Caboolture

Police have charged a 19-year-old Bellmere man following a traffic crash at Caboolture overnight, 16 May.

It will be alleged around 9:50pm, a JAC T9 utility was driving dangerously near Beerburrum Drive, before it lost control and struck a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Tuckeroo Drive.

The JAC utility then fled the scene.

Two occupants from the Toyota, 53-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl sustained injuries and were transported to Caboolture Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, a 65-year-old woman, was not physically injured.

Officers were notified a short time later and conducted patrols of the area, and were able to intercept the JAC at Morris Road, Elimbah at 10:10pm.

The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Bellmere man, was taken into custody.

It will be further alleged the man returned a breath alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.114.

The 19-year-old Bellmere man was issued a notice to appear for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mid-range drink driving. The man's vehicle has also been seized.

He is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on 28 May.
