Dangerous operation of motor vehicle charges at Crestmead, QLD

Police have charged a man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after an incident at Crestmead on Sunday, August 20, Queensland Police say.

Around 11.30pm an 18-year-old male occupant of a house at Huon Street confronted a man who had been sitting in a car in the street for some time.

A verbal argument ensued and the man drove off, performing a u-turn and allegedly driving at another male resident while holding a machete out the window of the vehicle.

The resident allegedly had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck by the car.

The man drove off but returned a few hours later with another male and allegedly made further threats towards the resident.

Police were called and the male driver was taken into custody.

A 33-year-old man from Labrador has been charged with going armed as to cause fear or alarm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstruct police and possess utensil.

He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Court on August 25.
