Dangerous Operation Of Vehicle, Clontarf

A man and woman have been charged following an alleged dangerous driving incident at Clontarf yesterday afternoon, 13 April.

Shortly before 4pm, a silver Holden Astra was travelling north on the Houghton Highway bridge where it will be alleged a male passenger pointed a firearm towards the driver of a Subaru Liberty.

It will be alleged the passenger exited the Astra and approached the Subaru when both vehicles were stopped at a set of traffic lights.

The Subaru's driver, a 31-year-old man, accelerated away, however it will further be alleged the Astra followed, driving dangerously.

Police observed the Astra in Redcliffe, where they arrested the two occupants and determined the firearm to be a replica.

A 29-year-old Strathpine man has been charged with dangerous conduct with a weapon and threatening violence. He has been refused police bail, to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today, 14 April.

The driver, a 63-year-old Redcliffe woman, was issued a Notice to Appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on 11 May for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The Subaru driver was not physically hurt.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the vehicles, or who may have relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.
