Darwin Police Investigate Aggravated Vehicle Theft

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after an aggravated vehicle theft in Casuarina overnight.

Around 8:45pm, police received a report that a woman was approached by two male youths at a carpark in Casuarina, with one youth allegedly armed with a star picket.

The youths have allegedly threatened the woman with the weapon before stealing her White Mitsubishi ASX and fleeing the scene.

The vehicle was later recovered abandoned after crashing on Boulter Road, Berrimah.

Earlier in the evening police received a separate report of two male youths attempting to steal a vehicle on Vanderlin Drive. Investigations are underway to identify the offenders and as to whether the two incidents are linked.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference 2400025720.
