Darwin Police Seek Info on Escaped Prisoner

Northern Territory Police are continuing to call for information in relation to an escaped prisoner in Darwin yesterday.

Around 2pm, three men, aged 18, 23, and 29 absconded from NT Correctional Custody at the Darwin Police Station on Knuckey Street, Darwin City.

NT Police quickly arrested two of the men in the vicinity of The Esplanade, who are now back in custody.

The third man, 29-year-old Lazarus Bara Bara, is believed to have fled out of the city.

He was last seen jumping into the tray of a ute and is believed to have travelled south of Darwin towards Adelaide River.

Territory Duty Superintendent Troy Stephens said, "If members of the public sight Lazarus , or know of his whereabouts, do not approach him, please call Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
