Local COVID-19 information is now at the fingertips of all Western Australians after the launch today of a new COVID-19 dashboard.
The dashboard enables members of the public to track the State's current COVID-19 curve and stay up-to-date with other local COVID-19 information through a combination of maps, graphs and tables.
It has been developed by the Department of Health and can be accessed from its website.
While the new resource has a strong WA focus, it also includes national and global case number updates.
Local information on the dashboard includes data on:
- new confirmed cases
- active cases
- total cases
- age and gender of cases
- source of infection
- hospitalisations
- total tests
- confirmed cases by Local Government Area (LGA) and Health Region.
Dashboard maps show WA COVID-19 case numbers across Australia and WA figures by LGA.
The dashboard is best suited for viewing on a desktop computer but can also be viewed on mobile devices. It draws on the most current State, national and international data.
The new resource will give members of the public a clearer picture of how WA is tracking in its response to the COVID-19 emergency.
WA's Chief Health Officer Dr Andrew Robertson said he hoped it would also motivate Western Australians to remain vigilant about social distancing, personal hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes and the other measures that will help WA continue to minimise the impact of COVID-19.
Background on dashboard data:
- Data are preliminary and subject to change as updates are received.
- Data on confirmed cases by Local Government Area (LGA) and Health Region are mapped according to usual place of residence in WA and may not be reflective of where the person is currently located, nor where the person was infected. Cases in non-WA residents have been excluded from the maps.
