Death - East Arnhem Region 16 September

A man has died and another man has been air-lifted to Gove District Hospital with serious injuries following a buggy crash near Nhulunbuy overnight.

Just after 11pm, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre advised authorised of an activation of a personal location device approximately 100km south of Gove.

Further information received was that the two men had rolled their buggy, with one critically injured and the second person injuries unknown at the time.

CareFlight was deployed to their location however, a 34-year-old man was declared deceased upon arrival.

The second man, aged 35, has been taken to Gove District Hospital for medical treatment.

A crime scene has been declared.
