Death of an inmate from Millhaven Institution - Regional Treatment Centre

On August 22, 2020, Michael Issariotis, an inmate from the Regional Treatment Center at Millhaven Institution, died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Issariotis had been serving a sentence of 8 years, 7 months, 28 days for assault, assault with a weapon, assault peace officer, possess weapon for dangerous purpose and uttering threats, since October 22, 2015.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
