Déjà vu for triple-zero failures

Liberal Party Victoria

History has repeated itself as ESTA experiences yet another state-wide outage of its Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

During this outage, calls to triple-zero went unanswered for nearly two hours, with the system still not fully operational as of this morning.

Previous failures in ESTA's CAD system had seen call takers reverting to using pencil and paper when answering calls.

Last night, those calls weren't even answered.

Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin, said triple-zero had failed yet again, with the backup system still at risk of total collapse.

"For years, Daniel Andrews has ignored the warnings to fix triple-zero and now at least 33 people have died as a consequence."

"13 hours later and the system is still down. This is exactly why the Liberals and Nationals will invest an extra $125 million to upgrade the CAD system and provide a state-of-the-art back up system."

"Only a vote for the Liberals and Nationals this November will fix triple-zero and end the health crisis."
