Delivering better, faster services

South Australians will soon have access to better, faster services at a new look Service SA centre in the heart of City – a move which will deliver better services with reduced wait times.

The modern CBD centre will include six counters, five assisted self-service PCs, two self-service digital kiosks and a customer meeting room which can be used as an additional service counter when required.

Minister Knoll said that the Marshall Liberal Government is delivering on its commitment to deliver better services for South Australians.

"We went to the election promising better services and this new, modern Service SA centre will deliver better and faster services," said Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll.

"No one likes waiting in line longer than they have to, and that's exactly the problem we are addressing and fixing.

"The new centre will feature five assisted self-service PCs, two high-tech self-service kiosks and a customer meeting room.

"We know that where we have trailed this new technology and user experience, we have seen a reduction in wait times.

"We are continuing to modernise the way we deliver services to make it more convenient and easier for South Australians.

"Digital services offered by Service SA now include renewing or replacing a licence, renewing vehicle and boat registration, setting up direct debit, changing address, applying for driver accreditation and ordering replacement plates.

"The more we can educate the public about what services can be conducted online, the more time and money we will save them.

"Customers also now have the option to go paperless and receive their vehicle registration renewal notice via email or SMS by signing up to mySA GOV."

The new site at 30 Currie Street will open to the public on Monday 24 February with the lease on the North Terrace site to expire in March 2020.

The facilities at the North Terrace site are now in excess compared to customer demand with many of the counters not required throughout the day.

Customer volumes for the current site have also decreased over the last five years as more people are turning to online services.
