Since 1960 our two countries have shared a common belief that a secure, democratic, and prosperous African continent is good for the world. We are committed to working with the government and people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to achieve a durable peace in the Great Lakes region which will enable economic growth, boost regional connectivity, and allow the region to develop its full potential.
