Edward River Council has opened an Expression of Interest (EOI) for qualified healthcare providers to deliver health and medical services from the Council-owned Deniliquin Medical Centre.

The EOI invites experienced organisations to propose patient-centred models of care that will support the current and future healthcare needs of the Edward River community.

Council is committed to supporting caring, healthy, connected and inclusive communities and recognises the vital role safe, accessible and sustainable healthcare services play in community wellbeing. The EOI process provides an opportunity to determine innovative service models that will strengthen healthcare delivery and support improved health outcomes across the region.

Mayor Ashley Hall said the EOI marks an important step in selecting the best long-term outcome for both the Deniliquin Medical Centre and the wider Edward River community.

"Our goal is to identify and select an operator that is best suited to the needs of the Edward River community and helps deliver improved health outcomes for people seeking healthcare in Deniliquin," Mayor Hall said.

"By opening this opportunity to the market, we're seeking experienced providers with the vision and capability to deliver accessible, sustainable and high-quality healthcare services for our region."

Mayor Hall said the EOI process would help Council better understand the options available to support healthcare delivery.

"By undertaking an open expression of interest process, we are seeking to better understand the range of service models available and identify operators who can contribute to the future healthcare needs of our region," he said.

The EOI has been designed to provide flexibility for respondents to propose innovative and sustainable healthcare solutions while supporting continuity of healthcare services and enabling Council to assess the opportunities available to the community.

Expressions of Interest close at 10am on Wednesday 19 August, 2026.

Interested parties can access the EOI documentation and further information via Council's website: www.edwardriver.nsw.gov.au/Council/Working-With-Council/Doing-Business-with-Council-1

To ensure the EOI process is fair and transparent, all enquiries - from respondents, their representatives, and community members alike - must go through Council's nominated contact person rather than Councillors, Council staff or Council representatives.
