Detectives charge man in relation to death of John Christianos

Missing Persons Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to the death of Christianos, Victoria Police say.

John Christianos was 40-years-old when he was reported missing on 11 June, 2001.

He was last seen at his home at a facility on Warrigal Road, near Paloma Street, in Bentleigh East where he lived alone.

Victoria Police detectives with the assistance of Queensland Police Homicide Squad and Noosa Heads (QLD) CIB executed a search warrant at a Tewantin (Sunshine Coast) home about 8.35am today.

Investigators charged a 62-year-old Tewantin man with murder this evening.

He will appear at Maroochydore Magistrates’ Court tomorrow for an extradition hearing.
