Detectives investigate Broadmeadows theft and indecent assault

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a woman was indecently assaulted after her phone was stolen in Broadmeadows, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told the woman was at a shopping centre on Pascoe Vale Road about 4.20pm on 8 June.

She placed her mobile phone momentarily unattended at a kiosk, where a man took it and ran off.

The woman made contact with the man, who demanded money in return for the phone.

She agreed to meet the man in Pascoe Vale South, where he indecently assaulted her and fled with both the cash and phone.

Police have released images and CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as being of southern European appearance, about 30 years of age and approximately 170-175cm tall with a stock build, dark shaved hair and a beard and moustache.

The man was wearing a black hooded top with a white snake motif on the front and back, olive green pants and black runners.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
