The Council of Europe proudly hosted the inaugural Digital Citizenship Education Forum - "Let's Act Now" in Strasbourg on 27-28 May 2025, marking a key moment in the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education. Bringing together over 200 participants from more than 30 countries, the Forum served as a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in the field of digital citizenship education.
Government officials, educators, learners, civil society representatives, private sector leaders, and academics joined forces to explore how education can empower individuals and strengthen democracy in an increasingly digital world. The event highlighted the importance of shared values, inclusive digital communities, and the role of education in tackling today's digital challenges.
From inspiring keynote speeches to interactive sessions and the launch of the DCE Planner - a new curriculum framework designed to support educator - the Forum laid the groundwork for a more connected, informed, and responsible digital society. The insights gathered will shape the upcoming Road Map for Digital Citizenship Education (2027-2031), ensuring that Europe continues to lead in fostering digital citizenship for all.
