The Northern Territory Police Force has responded to a disturbance at a secondary school in Katherine.
Around 2:45pm on Thursday, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of an altercation at a high school between a group of female students.
An Aboriginal Liaison Officer at the scene intervened in the altercation, during which an edged weapon was located.
The edged weapon was not used, and it was seized by police upon their arrival on the scene.
There were no injuries reported to police.
Katherine Division Acting Superintendent Warren Scott said: "The NTPF is working closely with the Department of Education NT to ensure that every child feels and is safe when going to school".
