Dog attacks and barking complaints down

Council rehomed or returned 74 pets to their owners in March and cared for 62 dogs and 49 cats at the animal management facility.

There were 568 animal related complaints recorded in March, with Council officers responding to 44 dog attacks, a decrease of 25% from the previous month, and issued 36 fines.

There were 58 barking complaints received (down 11% on February) and a total of 142 wandering dog complaints.
