Domestic violence in Darwin City

Northern Territory Police responded to a domestic violence related assault in Darwin City over the weekend.

Around 11:30pm on Friday 15 September 2023, police received reports that a 35-year-old woman had allegedly thrown a bottle at a 38-year-old woman at a location on Mirambeena Street.

The bottle caused lacerations to one of the woman's legs. The offender has allegedly physically assaulted the victim before two passers-by called an ambulance.

The offender fled the scene while the victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

Both woman are known to one another.

Detectives from Strike Force Lyra are investigating the incident and are currently working to locate the offender.
