Don't judge a library by its cover

Shoalhaven City Council's treasured Nowra Library has undergone a recent facelift with its exterior recently repainted and a new children's reading area installed.

Mayor Amanda Findley said "The new repaint is long overdue after 30 years of a pink building and the new fresh coat of paint suits the Nowra CBD.

"The new addition of a children's reading nook gives our smallest residents a safe and comfortable space to fall in love with literature.

"The new additions include new furniture, a green wall and sensory pod, where children can sit on cushions, calm down and focus on a new book.

"I would encourage anyone who hasn't been to the library recently to pop in and say hello to the friendly staff."

Bomaderry resident Danielle Hawley visits the library in Nowra on a regular basis and can't believe what a difference the re-paint makes, "it looks a lot fresher and a lot more modern," she said.

"Lovely and beautiful open space. I especially like the new children's area that they've got there, free and easy for the kids to pick books and relax."
