Young Tasmanians can look forward to more unforgettable moments at Party in the Paddock under a re-elected Tasmanian Liberal Government.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said over the next three years, the Liberals will invest $1.5 million to keep the festival alive until 2027.
To secure Quercus Park as the site for Party in the Paddock and Agfest, the Liberals will also invest $500,000 to deliver fire system upgrades, ensuring the safety of the public, patrons and the future of these events.
"Party in the Paddock is a home-grown festival started by a handful of mates who have worked hard to deliver what has become Tasmania's premier music festival," the Premier said.
"The event showcases local talent and vendors and brings international artists to the State, ensuring locals can see the acts they love right here in Tassie.
"Events like this draw visitors from all over Tasmania and interstate, and provide a huge boost to our tourism and hospitality sectors.
"Last year's event brought in more than 12,000 festival goers, with over 10 per cent travelling from interstate and overseas, and half aged between 18 and 25."
About 500 people who attended the festival last year stayed offsite in paid accommodation, with an average night stay of 9.8 days, which provides important flow-on effects for the State.
"After expanding from a three-day to four-day event, the event has continued to attract renowned international, national and local music and artistic acts, right here in regional Tasmania," Premier Rockliff said.
"Only a re-elected Liberal Government will secure the future of Party in the Paddock."
Quotes from Ryan Limb, Vibestown director, Party In The Paddock:
"Securing this funding means the future of Party In The Paddock is safe, at a time when so many festivals around the country are under threat. Government support is absolutely critical to keeping the music and arts alive, especially in regional areas. This investment isn't just about stages and artists, it's about the people we bring the experience to. Every year, PITP brings thousands from across Tasmania, Australia and beyond together to share in something uniquely Tasmanian. We're proud to see Tasmania championing live music and the arts when it matters most."
Premier Rockliff said a majority Liberal Government is the only way to keep Tasmania moving forward with certainty and stability.
"This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go-round of chaos.
"Let's get on with it.
"Let's finish the job for Tasmania."
