Double fatality at Mount Richmond

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a man and woman died following a two vehicle collision this morning in Mount Richmond.

Emergency services responded to reports of a head on collision between a Jeep Cherokee and a Holden Trax on the Portland Nelson Road about 10.25am.

The driver and front seat passenger in the Holden died at the scene and a female child in the rear passenger seat sustained life-threatening injuries.

She has been airlifted to hospital.

The driver of the Jeep, a 50-year-old man sustained non life-threatening injuries and is currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
