State Highway Patrol officers from South East region were left stunned after nabbing a motorcyclist at almost double the speed limit in Traralgon West yesterday (18 October), Victoria Police say.
Officers detected the bike allegedly travelling at 158km/h in an 80km/h zone on Old Melbourne Road just after 2pm.
The probationary rider, a 31-year-old man from Seaton, was intercepted and had his bike impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1143.
He is expected to be charged on summons with speeding-related offences.
A short time later, officers detected an allegedly unregistered vehicle travelling along Bridle Road, Morwell.
Police intercepted the car about 3.30pm and spoke to the probationary driver, a 37-year-old woman, who was also unlicensed and had two passengers in the car.
She underwent a preliminary drug test and allegedly tested positive to ice.
Her vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1291.
The Morwell woman is expected to be charged on summons with drug driving and other driving-related offences.
