DPP Releases 2024-25 Annual Report

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) Annual Report 2024-25 has been tabled in Parliament and published online.

The report shows that the Office has seen a 22% increase in new matters referred, receiving 2,556 referrals of briefs of evidence from 49 partner agencies.

Approximately ⅓ of those matters come from the Australian Federal Police, another ⅓ from state and territory police forces, and the remainder from Commonwealth agencies including Services Australia, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and the Australian Taxation Office.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Raelene Sharp KC, said she is privileged to serve the Australian community in this role and to be the steward of the specialist criminal litigation and advisory practice that is the CDPP.
