Hawkesbury City Council is inviting feedback on a draft update to the Planning Proposal Policy and Guidelines, along with associated amendments to Planning Proposal fees and charges in the Hawkesbury City Council Operational Plan 2026/2027.
The draft document is now on public exhibition until Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
An update to Hawkesbury City Council's Planning Proposal Policy and Guidelines is required following the release of new NSW Local Environmental Plan Making Guidelines 2026 by the NSW Government's Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The changes to Council's Planning Proposal Policy and Guidelines reflect the various amendments to the Planning Proposal process, including the Planning Proposal categorisation and stages, made by the NSW Government.
The revised Policy aims to:
- Improve transparency in the planning proposal process
- Ensure consistency in assessment and decision-making
- Align planning proposals with Council's strategic planning objectives
- Reflect current NSW Government requirements and processes
- Provide clear guidelines for applicants, Council and the community.
