NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages
A once in a lifetime opportunity to get married at some of the state's most desirable and romantic locations are now available to book through the NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages' new exclusive micro-wedding service.
NSW Registrar Amanda Ianna said the Registry is working with some of the most iconic venues and locations in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong in a special micro-wedding event series, to offer couples these dream locations at a fraction of the usual cost.
"Couples will have the opportunity to get married at a dream wedding venue, styled beautifully to make it a truly memorable and affordable day," Ms Ianna said.
"Along with the perfect location, micro-weddings offer couples the opportunity to build their dream wedding by selecting a number of add-ons depending on their budget and preferences.
"Booking through the Registry means all the hard work has been done making it a more enjoyable and easier to organise wedding experience."
With an average Australian wedding costing $36,000, micro-weddings offer couples the opportunity to have the wedding of their dreams on a smaller and more intimate scale and also offers the ability to start their lives together on the right financial footing.
The Registry will release four themed collections of micro-wedding venues from July 2021 to June 2022. These themes will be City, Coastal, Heritage and Country.
The first "City" collection of venues are now available to book and will take place from July to September at locations including Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, Pullman Grand Circular Quay, the Old Clare at Chippendale, Vaucluse House, and the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour.
Bookings for "Coastal" venues will be released in May and will take place between October 2021 – January 2022. Venues will include Bondi Icebergs, Clovelly Surf Club and Mereweather Surf House in Newcastle to name a few.
Ms Ianna said the micro wedding locations will have limited availability and the Registry will have package styles to suit all seasons and tastes.
"Whether you are adventurous and want to get married on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge with a violinist playing or want to get married at one of Sydney's grandest harbourside estates, there is an option to suit all tastes," Ms Ianna said.
"Last year more than 2585 weddings were conducted by one of our celebrants at our Registry wedding rooms and the new micro-wedding locations gives couples more options on where the ceremony is held.
"The Registry ceremony rooms and on-going external venues, such as the Old Wollongong Court House, Manly Surf Club and Handpicked Wine Cellars, will remain as a popular choice for weddings, but we can now also offer these exclusive one-off micro wedding locations so you can make your day even more special."
A micro-wedding through the Registry can include all the traditional wedding requirements such as the food and beverage reception packages, accommodation, photography packages, bouquet and buttonholes.
All legal requirements are also taken care of including the wedding ceremony, booking of the celebrant and venue, lodgement of notice of intention to marry as well as a standard and commemorative wedding certificate.
Availability at each venue is limited and based on first to book.
