Police impounded a car after the driver blew nearly five times the limit in Essendon early this morning.
The driver was stopped at a preliminary breath testing station on Mt Alexander Road about 12.30am.
The 31-year-old Keilor Downs man was breathalysed, returning an alleged reading of .244.
His license was immediately suspended pending a court date.
Officers impounded the man's vehicle at a cost of $999.42.
