Drink driver detected near fatal crash

Police already at the scene of a fatal crash detected a drink driver today.

A blue Holden Commodore drove into police cones closing off the scene of a fatal crash on Bridge Road, Para Hills about 2.30pm on Wednesday 12 February.

Police approached the driver, a 55-year-old Para Hills West man, who recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.156 - more than three times the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.

The probationary licence holder was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of his probationary licence. He was issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence, his car was impounded for 28 days, and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
