Drink driver nabbed after collision in Springvale

A man has returned an evidentiary breath test of .223 following a collision in Springvale last night.

The driver of a white Nissan El Grande allegedly collided into another vehicle at the intersection of Westall Road and Centre Roads about 10pm.

The driver of the Nissan, a 37-year-old Dandenong man, failed to stop and continued driving along Centre Road.

A number of witnesses were concerned about the man's ability to drive, so they followed him until the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Springvale Road.

The driver was pulled from the car by witnesses where they waited until police arrived at the scene.

His licence was immediately suspended, and his vehicle has been impounded for 30 days at a cost of $950.

It is expected he will be charged on summons with drink driving, driving under the influence and other traffic related offences.

The driver and four passengers in the other vehicle were not physically injured as a result of the collision.
