A drink driver with two children in the vehicle was stopped by police at Kimba last night.
About 7.30pm on Saturday 10 October, police were patrolling the Kimba area when they spotted a ute at the intersection of Cross Street and Railway Terrace.
It will be alleged the two children were watching the police officer through the front passenger window.
The ute was stopped and officers identified that the two children, both aged 12, were sitting on the front passenger seat and sharing a single seatbelt.
The driver, a 20-year-old Kimba man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.241, nearly five times the legal limit.
He was reported for multiple traffic offences, including drink driving, drink driving with a child under 16 present in the vehicle, and failing to ensure passengers under 16 were wearing seatbelts.
He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
