A driver has been arrested after crashing his car and becoming bogged at Kudla last night.
Just before 11.15pm on Wednesday 12 August, police attempted to stop a Mazda sedan on Womma Road at Edinburgh North but the driver refused to stop. The Mazda was pursued for a short time but was lost sight of as it headed north on Peachey Road.
The vehicle was picked up again on Curtis Road and pursued until it entered an unattended road work area on Angle Vale Road and became bogged in a newly excavated draining channel.
A 39-year-old man from Angle Vale was arrested and charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, driving while disqualified and breach of bail. He was also charged with unrelated domestic violence offences. He was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
