Driver dies in crash with bus

A woman has died after her SUV and bus collided at West Ryde this morning.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road near Falconer Street just before 6.30am (Wednesday 30 June 2021), and found a black SUV, being driven east, and a bus, travelling west, had collided in the westbound lanes.

The female driver of the SUV died at the scene.

The male driver of the bus was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment of a minor laceration and mandatory testing. There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command established a crime scene; however, the Crash Investigation Unit is now on site and will be conducting inquiries.
