Driver double limit in Greenvale

A man was detected driving while allegedly double the legal alcohol limit following a collision in Greenvale on Thursday night.

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers were called to the collision, at the intersection of Mickleham Road and Dellamore Boulevard, about 11.15pm where a red Nissan wagon had allegedly collided with a white Ford wagon.

As a result of the collision the Nissan wagon had flipped onto its side.

The driver, a 22-year-old Broadmeadows man, and his two passengers managed to remove themselves from the vehicle and were all uninjured.

The driver of the Ford Wagon, a 26-year-old Greenvale man, was trapped inside his vehicle for some time until emergency services arrived.

He was later transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Broadmeadows man underwent a preliminary breath test at the scene and was requested to undergo an evidentiary test where he returned an alleged reading of 0.124.

He is expected to be charged with numerous traffic offences including reckless conduct endangering serious injury and drink driving.
