Driver fails to stop for police in Baxter

Police have released an image of a man after a car with stolen registration plates failed to stop for police in Baxter yesterday, Victoria Police say.

Hastings police were patrolling a service station on Grant Road when they observed a man filling up his car with petrol about midnight on Friday 19 October.

When the man saw police, he got into his car, a sliver Holden Vectra with stolen plates and sped off.

The driver failed to pull over for police and was last seen driving towards Somerville.

The driver is described as being aged in his early 20’s, Caucasian, skinny to medium build with short blonde hair.

He was wearing a white cap, black and white jacket with black pants and black runners.

Police have released the below image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
