Driving and drug charges, Loganlea

Logan police have charged a 21-year-old Loganlea man with multiple offences after a vehicle he was driving allegedly attempted to evade police.

Around 8pm last night police observed the vehicle, a white Ford Falcon sedan, parked on Outlook Street in Waterford allegedly bearing false number plates.

It will be alleged that when police attempted to pull up behind the car, a number of people ran and entered the vehicle, which then took off at speed.

It will be further alleged the car was swerving in front of oncoming vehicles and being driven at high speeds.

Police later located the vehicle at a residence on Kraatz Avenue, Loganlea, where the man was arrested a short time later without incident.

He was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without a licence, driving uninsured, driving an unregistered vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis).

He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today (July 17).
