Driving hazards around bushfire areas

Motorists have been urged to take care in fire-affected areas as Tasmania Police continues to assist Tasmania Fire Service in combatting a number of bushfires around the state.

"With temperature and wind conditions expected to increase over the weekend, Tasmania Police would like to take the opportunity to remind people of the risks associated with driving on roads that are affected by smoke from these fires," Inspector Darren Hopkins said.

"Drivers are asked to slow down, drive to the conditions and to put headlights or driving lights on when visibility is reduced by smoke."
