Sadly, a young male has drowned whilst snorkelling at South Bruny near Lighthouse Bay.
Police were alerted to the incident around 2:45 pm.
Police and Ambulance stationed on Bruny Island as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to the incident.
Unfortunately the male was unable to be revived after being retrieved from the water.
Our thoughts are with the male's family and friends.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
