Drug charges - Alice Springs

Two men will face drug charges after members of the Southern Drug Investigation Unit seized methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $40,000 yesterday, Northern Territory Police say

The men, aged 32 and 21-years-old were arrested after an extensive investigation involving the Northern Territory Police SDIU, the Cross Border Team and South Australian Police.

It is alleged the pair received 28 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $42,000 via the local post office.

The men have both been charged with one count each of Supply less than commercial quantity of schedule 1 dangerous drug.

The 21-year-old man will appear before court this afternoon and the 32-year-old man has been remanded in custody to appear before in court on November 8.
